Events

MW2006 features many different opportunities to meet – and learn from – professional peers and to build a personal network.

Join us at Pre-conference Tours, the Welcome Reception, the Birds of a Feather Lunch, Exhibitors' Reception, Birds of a Feather Breakfast, the Conference Reception and the closing Ideum Fiesta.

There are formal Sessions and less formal Interactions throughout the conference; Pre-Conference Workshops on March 22, 2006 offer more structured learning environments.

Pre-Conference Tours

The day before the Pre-Conference Workshops, cultural and educational institutions and multimedia developers in the Albuquerque area team up to provide attendees at MW2006 with behind-the-scenes tours of some of the most interesting new media programs in the area. Tours are a great chance to share experiences with other delegates in an informal environment. Take a Pre-Conference Tour on March 21, 2006.

Tours require separate advance registration. Space is limited. Conference Registration required. Day tours last all day and include lunch and transportation; those wishing to continue on the winery dinner and tour can do so from any day tour, or sign up for this tour on its own.

(8:00 am - 6:00pm, lunch included; optional drop-off at the winery.)
Anasazi Fields Winery Dinner and Tour
wine bottle label Enjoy a buffet dinner and sunset tour of the Anasazi Fields Winery, which sits on the western edge of the old village of Placitas, New Mexico, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Orchards and vineyards surrounding the winery are watered by a spring-fed irrigation system that dates back over a thousand years to a time when the Anasazi people farmed the Placitas Valley. Several samples will be offered during the meal, providing ample opportunity to experience Anasazi's unique handcrafted dry table wines produced from fruits and berries other than grapes. Unlike most "fruit wines", these wines are not sweet dessert wines. Their delicious dryness makes them the perfect accompaniment to any meal. These include Plum, Apricot, Peach and Raspberry wines crafted from local and other New Mexico fruits and berries. All wines are aged on oak for one to four years. The price of the tour includes one bottle of wine, dinner and tour.
Tour Logistics
Those on the Pueblo and Albuquerque Museum tours, may continue by bus to the winery. Others may join the bus at the hotel at 4:00pm. All attendees will be returned to the Hotel by bus after dinner. The bus from Santa Fe will get to the winery after the tour, but in time for dinner.
