Dr. Lori C. Walters is a Research Associate with the Institute for Simulation and Training and the Department of History at the University of Central Florida. She received her Ph.D. in history from Florida State University with a concentration in 20th Century US History and Public History. Her research interest is Virtual Heritage - a multi-disciplinary approach to examining the past utilizing the latest digital technology to disseminate information. Projects include Shadows of Canaveral – a virtual tour of 1950s/1960s Cape Canaveral and the digitization of over 35,000 images pertaining to Cape Canaveral during the period. Her current endeavor is Interconnections/ Come Back to the Fair – a virtual recreation of the 1964/65 New York World’s Fair serving to convey STEM learning. She has received grants from the State of Florida, National Endowment for the Humanities and National Science Foundation.
