Patricia Harpring is a specialist in Medieval and Renaissance art and author of The Sienese Trecento Painter Bartolo di Fredi. She is a senior editor for the Thesaurus of Geographic Names at the Getty in Los Angeles. She has also worked on other vocabularies and standards, including the Categories for the Description of Works of Art, the Foundation for Documents of Architecture (FDA), and the CIMI/CHIO project. She has written other articles on vocabularies, standards, and the FDA.
