Françoise Vergès is a Reader at Goldsmiths College, London and the director of the scientific team of the forthcoming museum/ cultural center on Reunion Island, the MCUR. She has written extensively, both in French and English, on postcolonial theory, race, slavery and citizenship, and indiaoceanic processes of creolization. She has worked with artists such as Isaac Julien and Yinka Shonibare and has been involved in numerous artistic events.
