ICHIM07 featured many different opportunities to meet professional peers and to build a personal network in informal social settings.

Pre-conference Tours, the Welcome Reception and Conference Reception, and lunches were held throughout the meeting.

Pre-Conference Tours

The day before the Conference, cultural and educational institutions and multimedia developers in the Toronto-area teamed up to provide attendees at ICHIM07 with behind-the-scenes tours of some of the most interesting new media programs around. Tours were a great chance to share experiences with other delegates in an informal environment.

  Toronto Culture On-line
Explore interactive multimedia programming at the Royal Ontario Museum. Learn about how Collection X is helping to re-invent the Art Gallery of Ontario during its closing for renovation. Consider the ways that technology contributes to accessibility in numerous research projects from the University of Toronto Adaptive Technology Resource Centre (http://www.utoronto.ca/atrc/) .

Join us for a tour and briefing on these and other important cultural projects in downtown Toronto. 10:00 am - 4:00pm. Lunch provided.

Interactions with Visitors: New Approaches to Museology at the Ontario Science Centre
The staff of the Ontario Science Centre invite you to experience with them the excitement of reinventing public programming and museum exhibitions in the 21st century. Engage in active re-imagining of the museum, explore the inventive interactions created by museum staff, and create rapidly prototyped designs of your own. Join us for an action packed, full-day tour and workshop. 10:00 am - 4:00pm. Lunch provided.
