Sonja Staum-Kuniej is the Herron Art Library Team Leader for the Herron Art Library-Indiana University/Purdue University, Indianapolis (IUPUI). Ms. Staum-Kuniej is responsible for the daily operations of the Herron Library and the Herron Team. As a branch library of the technically advanced IUPUI University Libraries' system, Herron library's mission is to provide timely access to electronic and traditional resources on the study of art and art history. The Indianapolis community is a vital recipient of services provided by the Herron Library. Herron/University Libraries-IUPUI in partnership with the Art Museum Image Consortium (AMICO) were recently awarded a National Leadership Grant from the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to develop models for license and access to the AMICO Image Library for the greater Indianapolis area K-12 educational communities and public libraries. IMLS is a Federal agency that fosters innovation, leadership and a lifetime of learning by supporting museums and libraries. Prior to employment with the IUPUI University Library system, Ms. Staum-Kuniej served as Museum Librarian, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL (1989-93). She is an active member of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and the ARLIS-Midstates Chapter. Sonja received her B.A., M.L.S., Indiana University; MFA, University of Georgia.
