Selecting Advanced Features for Museum Web SitesJonathan Bowen , University of Reading, United KingdomSession: Workshop 12 This workshop gives practical tips on using some more advanced features available for use in the implementation of Web sites. Potential uses for museum Web sites will be suggested, with the aim being to help and interest the virtual visitor as much as possible. The following will be considered: advanced HTML features including tables, image maps, meta-data for search engines, JavaScript, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Background: Knowledge of basic HTML coding and simple Web site design will be assumed.
Outcome: An appreciation of some useful features that can easily be added to Web pages to enliven them for the virtual visitor.
