C Wallis Barnicoat is Manager Museum Development in National Services Te Paerangi, an outreach team at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, in Wellington, New Zealand. Her work involves working with museums throughout the country to build their capacity by providing projects to ensure sustainability, including training for different levels in the sector, museum secondments and graduate internships, the New Zealand Museums Standards Scheme, and most recently the redeveloped NZMuseums. She worked with other Te Papa staff and VSL to encourage and train the museum sector to be involved; and with an emphasis on the small mainly voluntary museums (of which there are over 400 in New Zealand) the sector successfully prepared their collections to go online. Previously Wallis has worked in public and private art museums, and in video production in New Zealand and the USA.

Wallis will present NZMuseums: Showcasing the collections of all New Zealand museums. [Paper]
