Carolyn Howitt is the E-learning Editor in the Department of Learning and Audiences at the British Museum, London. She is responsible for the Museum’s online provision for schools and families. She has been involved in many projects during her nine years at the Museum, the most recent being the current production of a new website specifically for children aged 7-11, due to launch early in 2009. Before coming to the Museum, Carolyn spent seven years teaching, with responsibility for English and ICT. In 1998 she completed an MA in Primary Education, specialising in how children use computers to learn. She has also written two children’s books for BM Press, the most recent of which 500 Things to Know About the Ancient World (2007) has won an Association of Cultural Enterprises award.

Carolyn will demonstrate On-line videos of Deaf children interpreting the collections in Sign Language. [Demonstration]
