Thanks to the hundreds of people who joined us at the only annual conference exploring the on-line presentation of cultural and heritage content across institutions and around the world: the tenth annual Museums and the Web.
The MW2006 Program
Museums and the Web addressed the social, cultural, design, technological, economic, and organizational issues of culture and heritage on-line. Taking an international perspective, senior speakers with extensive experience in Web development reviewed and analyzed the issues and impacts of networked cultural and natural heritage. Together, we looked ahead to the transformation of communities and organizations. Join our continuing conversation on-line.
The MW2006 Program was selected through peer-review by an International Program Committee.

MW2006 featured plenary sessions, parallel sessions, museum project demonstrations, commercial exhibits, mini-workshops, professional fora, a usability lab, a design 'Crit Room,' and the Best of the Web awards. Prior to the conference, there were full-day and half-day pre-conference workshops and a day of pre-conference tours. (See the description of Presentation Formats for more details.)
Social events included receptions each evening, a Birds-of-a-Feather Breakfast and a Lunch, and plenty of refreshment breaks in the program to provide hours of discovery and debate among hundreds of colleagues from around the world.
Who Attended MW2006?
Webmasters, educators, curators, librarians, designers, managers, directors, scholars, consultants, programmers, analysts, and developers from museums, galleries, libraries, and archives joined the professionals, companies, foundations and governments that support them and attended Museums and the Web every year.
