Demonstration: Demonstrations - Session 1

The Canadian Museum of Nature is developing a signature gallery on fossils; the gallery will feature “enhanced learning stations” and is scheduled to open in 2006. As part of the gallery development process, interactive content for both the gallery setting and for distribution via nature.ca (the museum’s web site) is being produced simultaneously. The particular example of work that will be demonstrated uses a 3D laser scanning system and animation soft ware to document specific specimens (fossil bones) and to animate models of Cretaceous dinosaurs in their environment that realistically illustrate the main educational messages.
