Serving historic photograph collections on the Web
David Gilbert, National Park Service, USA

Demonstration: Demonstrations 2

This demonstration will show how to develop a searchable online photo archive using a relational database management system (RDMS), Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), and ColdFusion Markup Language (CFML). The demonstration will present the tools, methodology, workflow, and specifications required to implement a prototype project. Included in this demonstration will be the structure of the relational database, the HTML and CFML templates which provide Web users with interactive access to the National Park Service Historic Photograph Collection, and the middleware application software which connects the database to the Web.
