Guidelines for Speakers

Paper Deadline

Papers are due on May 15, 1997.

Submission of Papers

Email completed papers to the conference chair, David Bearman (dbear@archimuse.com). Attach the file to an email message, with "ICHIM97 Paper" in the Subject line. Include the author'(s) name(s), institution(s), article title, abstract, keywords, author(s) vita(e), a list of illustrations and a list of any attached files (and their formats) in the body of the email message.

Manuscripts should be in .RTF or a major wordprocessing file format, laid out for US Letter paper (8 1/2 x 11 inches), with 1 inch margins. Create footnotes using the footnote function of your word processor. Please double-space all text including footnotes, and references. Number the pages consecutively.

Citation Formats

Citations should follow the format specified in the Guidelines for Authors for Archives and Museum Informatics: the cultural heritage informatics quarterly.

Illustrations

Illustrations for the ICHIM Proceedings should be submitted as TIFF, GIF, PICT, or JPEG [maximum quality] files, that can be reproduced at between 300 and 600 dpi. Each image should be in a separate file, sent as an attachment to an email message.

Each image should be accompanied by an explanatory caption. A list of all images, with their file names should accompany the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for ensuring they have permission to reproduce all images [in both print and electronic versions of the proceedings]. Please forward copies of permissions with the manuscript.

Copyright Assignment

Before their papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings, all speakers/authors must sign and return the Copyright Agreement.

Audio Visual Equipment

All sessions will be held in the Auditorium of le Musée du Louvre or the Amphithéâtre of l'École du Louvre. Each venue will be equipped with slide projectors, overhead projectors, a PC and Macintosh computer with projection and sound. Live connections to the Internet ARE NOT reliably available and speakers should bring all Web screens cached and plan on presenting without online links.

Complete audiovisual and computer requirements for all demonstrations must be provided to the organizers before June 1, 1997. These must specify all hardware, boards and software. If the required equipment cannot be secured, demonstrators will be requested to bring their own systems.
