Location

Grindstone Island is in Big Rideau Lake, on the Rideau Canal System between Ottawa (Canada’s capital) and Kingston. The nearest town is Portland, Ontario.

Airport

Participants should fly into Ottawa International Airport (about 1 hr. distant).

Transportation from the Airport to the Island

Groups are responsible for their own transportation to Grindstone Island. There is no local public transportation.

Communication

The Internet is always available to you in the seminar room or from your laptop. Phone service on the Island is used for Grindstone business and emergencies. There are no public phones. Your cell phones (with Canadian access) will work.
