Jesús Bescós

E.T.S. Ing. Telecomunicación, Spain

Jesús Bescós was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1969. He received the Ingeniero de Telecomunicación degree (six years engineering program) with honors in 1993 from the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Since 1993 he has been a member of the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes of the E.T.S. Ingenieros de Telecomunicación. He was a PhD scholar of the Research Program of the Madrid Regional Government from 1994 till 1997. Besides working as Research Assistant at the Grupo de Tratamiento de Imágenes, since 1997 he has been Assistant Lecturer at the Escuela Técnica de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Currently, he is working towards his PhD.

His professional interests include design and development of graphical interfaces and multimedia communications. He has been actively involved in European projects (Race, Acts).

He received in 1994 the Award of the best paper of the Cuartas Jornadas Telecom I+D.

Jesús will co-present The BABEL Project: A Museums and Libraries Network.
