Prue Campbell is a Education Special Projects Coordinator at Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI). Formerly, she was an engineer and a 10 year veteran in the planetarium. Known at STScI as the "planetarium and science museum person", Prue helps disseminate the results of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) to the informal science education community. Prue is always looking for ways to help make your next visit to a science center alive with the latest discoveries and images from HST.
Dr. Carol A. Christian currently heads the Office of Public Outreach at the Space Telescope Science Institute. This office was established to bring the data and research results from programs conducted with the Hubble Space Telescope to the public through a variety of channels. Christian also serves on the NASA Office of Space Science Education Task Force and was a reviewer for the OSS Education strategic plan. In addition to several professional societies related to the Astrophysics discipline, Christian is also a member of the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Science which sponsors numerous meetings regarding science and technology education through the Internet. Christian is the Project Director for the Science Information Infrastructure (SII) Education Program. This project is aimed at building and implementing a framework spanning the nation's science museums to deliver science, technical and other data and information to the public, including the K-12 community. Through a synergistic partnering of research institutions, science museums, teachers and industry, science resource centers at the science centers (museums, planetaria) are being populated with modules containing science and technical content for the public. This content is arranged as "raw materials" - images, video clips, audio, and textual information, etc., and as documented resources with examples of classroom use and can be also incorporated into lesson plans, as the teacher-authors desire. Formerly, Christian was the Science Support and Technology Transfer Project Manager for the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer Mission. In that capacity she served as the Manager of the EUVE Guest Observer, Archive, and Berkeley Data Analysis Science support groups at the Center for EUVE Astrophysics (CEA) at UC Berkeley.
