Dipity.com is a free tool for creating Flash timelines, flipbooks, and placing events on a map. Any size museum can use this tool and embed the timelines in their own web site. It incorporates images and video. It has Web 2.0 features of user comments and RSS. The Hirschorn Museum uses it for a timeline of the museum's history. We're using for history themes and in a class where students share the history of their community through comics.
