Anasazi Fields Winery

Marcia Finkelstein, Gallery Systems, USA

Enjoy a buffet dinner and sunset tour of the Anasazi Fields Winery, which sits on the western edge of the old village of Placitas, New Mexico, between Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Orchards and vineyards surrounding the winery are watered by a spring-fed irrigation system that dates back over a thousand years to a time when the Anasazi people farmed the Placitas Valley.

Several samples will be offered during the meal, providing ample opportunity to experience Anasazi's unique handcrafted dry table wines produced from fruits and berries other than grapes. Unlike most "fruit wines", these wines are not sweet dessert wines. Their delicious dryness makes them the perfect accompaniment to any meal. These include Plum, Apricot, Peach and Raspberry wines crafted from local and other New Mexico fruits and berries. All wines are aged on oak for one to four years. The price of the tour includes one bottle of wine, dinner and tour.

Those on the Pueblo and Albuquerque Museum tours, may continue by bus to the winery. Others may join the bus at the hotel at 4:00pm. All attendees will be returned to the Hotel by bus after dinner.
