Franca Garzotto is Associate Professor of Information Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches several classes on HCI, web design, multimedia applications, usability. She has a Degree in Mathematics from the University of Padua (Italy) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Politecnico di Milano. She has been (and currently is) involved in various EC funded projects applying ICT to cultural heritage, e-learning, e-commerce. Franca was tutorial chair and/or member of the technical program committee of many international conferences: ACM Hypertext and Hypermedia, ACM Multimedia, ICHIM, WebNet. She served as Program Chair of the International Workshop on "Hypermedia Design" (Montpellier - Fr ance, June 1995), Program Co-Chair of the First International Workshop on "Evaluation and Quality Criteria for Multimedia Applications" (S. Francisco - CA, November 1995), and Program Committee Co-Chair of ICHIM’01 (Milano,- Italy, September 2001). She was SIC-WEB (ACM Special Interest Group on Hypermedia & Web) vice chair from 1997 to 1999.
