Born 1952. Monika studied Mathematics, Sociology, Psychology, and Paedagogics in Bochum, at Kings College London, and in Berlin, with a focus on adult education. Since 1985, she has been part of the staff of the Institut für Museumskunde (SMB-IfM), Berlin, Germany, overseeing the annual visitor survey related to all the German museums. Since 1994, she has been Head of the unit “Visitor-related museum research and museum statistics“ and Deputy Head of the Institute. She is continuously teaching students of museology at a University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
