Mini-Workshop: Gain a Skill - 2

The Science Museum in London has developed a system which allows ordinary members of staff to create their own computer exhibits, with a layered structure and multi-media capability, that can then be displayed through multiple delivery channels. To do this the content is written as an XML file, which can then be read by a template program to create a finished on-gallery kiosk, or published into a series of html templates to create a simple, accessible web exhibit. Although a fairly straightforward system this has allowed the museum to create computer exhibits quickly, cheaply and reliably.
