Prior to starting Patron Technology, Eugene Carr was the founder, President and CEO of CultureFinder.com from 1995-2001. CultureFinder.com is the leading arts events listing on the Internet. It was launched on the Web in November 1995, launched on AOL in October 1996, and financed with over $10 million, initially as part of the American Online "Greenhouse" program, and then a substantial investment from Comcast and several leading individual investors. The site contains over 250,000 event listings for over 3,000 arts organizations nationwide. A former cellist, Mr. Carr has been involved in both arts management and the corporate world for the last 15 years. From 1991-1996, Mr. Carr served as the executive director of the American Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln Center, New York, and simultaneously served in the same position for the Concordia Orchestra beginning in 1994. During this time, he also founded a not- for-profit company, High Five - Tickets to the Arts - (an award winning five dollar ticket program for NY City high school students sponsored by Citibank, TicketMaster and the New York Times) and served as its first Chairman of the Board. Mr. Carr has been a board member for five years. Mr. Carr's background also includes several years of corporate marketing experience at American Express.
