Dr. George F. MacDonald was President and CEO of the Canadian Museum of Civilization until January, 1999. Dr. MacDonald is an anthropologist and received his education at the University of Toronto and Yale. Beyond his role as CEO of the Museum, he has published extensively on the archaeology and anthropology of the Pacific Coast native cultures and served the heritage community in a wide range of roles including participating on the National Museum of the American Indian National Campaign. Since 1984, when the National Research Council of Canada became involved in the development of 3D imaging systems, he actively supported the development of the technology for museum applications. Dr. MacDonald is currently CEO and Director of Museum Victoria in Melbourne, Australia
